Once you arrive make your way to your hotel where the rest of your day is for you to relax and unwind after your long flight.
Day 3 Cape Town
Your time in Cape Town is free for you to explore this magnificent city. Get to the top of Table Mountain, go whale watching or even Shark Cage diving for those of you who are brave enough, visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years and take in all the amazing things to do around the Victoria & Albert Waterfront or Camps Bay. Day 4 CAPE TOWN to OUDTSHOORN via ROUTE 62
Welcome to the colourful and diverse Cape. You will be collected from your hotel and with the majestic Table Mountain behind you, travel inland on the N1 highway via Route 62 towards Oudtshoorn. This route will usher you from the tranquil vineyards to cinematic mountain vistas and the unique beauty of the semi-arid Klein Karoo. Enjoy a comfort stop in the small artist’s town of Barrydale at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains. Back onto Route 62, head towards the heart of the Klein Karoo. In a secluded valley, which was once a lake, you’ll discover Calitzdorp, South Africa’s port wine capital where you will enjoy lunch (own account) and a wine tasting. Make your way to a 20 million year old natural treasure at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains, known as a shelter for early humans - the Cango Caves. Leaving this subterranean wonderland, we head back towards Oudtshoorn. Relax and take pleasure in the friendly Klein Karoo hospitality, enjoying dinner in town. Day 5 OUDTSHOORN to KNYSNA via WILDERNESS
Enjoy a country breakfast at your hotel, before embarking on an ostrich farm tour. Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world and has over 400 ostrich farms, as well as several Feather Mansions. Learn about these birds, their industry and dare to ride the world’s biggest bird species. Depart the Klein Karoo and travel over the Outeniqua Pass towards the Garden Route, via George, to Wilderness. Enjoy stunning and unspoilt scenery at Dolphin Point and Map of Africa look out points (weather permitting). Enjoy lunch (own account) before making your way along the coastal road to Knysna. In Knysna, you will set out on a Sunset Knysna Oyster Tour. An informative and interactive cruise, this tour introduces you to the wild Knysna oyster and its trade while enjoying the natural surrounding beauty. Day 6 KNYSNA to ALBERTINIA via MOSSEL BAY
Depart the hotel after breakfast and head for the historical harbour town of Mossel Bay. Visit the Dias Museum Complex which is made up of several different museums, among them the Shell and Maritime Museums. At the centre of the museum complex is the Post Office Tree. An ancient Milkwood tree that has served as a post office since the 1500’s. Lunch will be enjoyed (own account) at The Point before making your way to the safari destination for this evening's accommodation. With the Langeberg Mountains as the backdrop, this private game reserve offers you bushveld beauty along with sightings of a wide range of game as well as the “Big 5”. Day 7 ALBERTINIA to ARNISTON via SWELLENDAM
This morning’s early game drive will give you the opportunity to see the animals at their breakfast routines as well as an opportunity to experience cheetah tracking. After breakfast, visit the lodge's Cheetah Breeding and Conservation Centre, gives you the opportunity to encounter and learn about this endangered species followed by an informative visit to their Reptile Centre. Leaving the bush behind, you will make your way via Swellendam and Bredasdorp to the picturesque village of Arniston. Lunch will be taken en route (own account). Day 8 ARNISTON to CAPE TOWN via FALSE BAY
Sit down to a leisurely breakfast while you let the fresh sea air awaken your senses. This morning you will journey to the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas – a place where the warm Indian Ocean meets the cool Atlantic. The Cape of Storms has caused many ancient mariners to brave its waters and wreck their ships in the name of exploration and adventure. Continue your journey to the scenic coastal town of Hermanus, renowned for its whale watching, a place where Southern Right whales return annually during the winter and early spring months (July to November). Lunch will be enjoyed en route (own account). Continue your magnificent coastal drive along False Bay with its panoramic views of Cape Point. You will be dropped off late afternoon at Cape Town airport where you will have an overnight flight to catch your early flight the next morning
Day 9 Capetown to Johannesburg
This morning you will fly to Johannesburg ready for your safari. You have a night in another hotel before being picked up tomorrow morning for the start of your tour.
Day 10 JOHANNESBURG to KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Sawubona and welcome to the first day of your unforgettable South African Safari. This morning you will be collected from your Johannesburg hotel by our professional tourist guide, and head east into the lush and scenic beauty of Mpumalanga. Travelling via the sub-tropical Lowveld via Machadodorp, before entering South Africa’s largest conservation area, the Kruger National Park. The Park forms part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. This peace park links the Kruger National Park with Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique and is 20 000 square kilometers in size, roughly the size of the Netherlands. Your bushveld experience will start with a guided afternoon game drive in a closed vehicle, seeking out the “Big 5” and other rare and endangered species. The Kruger National Park offers a stunning range of fauna and flora which include: 147 mammals, 114 reptiles and 336 tree species, some of which are endemic to the park. Return to your rest camp for dinner. Day 11 FULL DAY IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Grab your camera and embark on a pre-breakfast game drive in a closed vehicle. The early morning is a wonderful time to pursue sightings of our wild friends and beasts at their morning routines. In its immense botanic diversity, the Kruger National Park boasts 16 macro eco zones. The Northern eco zones are predominantly mopane veld while in the South it is thornveld. The park is also home to 507 bird species and 1 982 plant species. The abundant variety ensures an unforgettable bushveld experience. Stop for lunch (own account) at one of the camp’s numerous scenic settings. With the bush firmly entrenched in your senses, you will be returned to the rest camp to freshen up before dinner. Day 12 KRUGER NATIONAL PARK to JOHANNESBURG via LONG TOM PASS
Arise to the enchanting sounds of the African bush and enjoy your final morning tracking the animals that have eluded you on your game drives. After breakfast, travel through Mpumalanga via Graskop and Long Tom Pass. Enjoy lunch (own account) en route. Continue your journey back to the City of Gold, Johannesburg to OR Tambo International Airport.
