The one mile journey will take you high above the forests and between mountain peaks, affording stunning views of the city skyline, harbour and far-off Vancouver Island. Whale Watching Safari, £108 per person - If you're in Vancouver between April and October, you must take this 'once in a lifetime' tour to witness these magnificent and intelligent animals who are at the very top of the ocean's food chain. The Orca or Killer whales visit the North West Pacific coast around Vancouver regularly between April and October in search of salmon. Sighting chances are 85 per cent and you are also likely to encounter other marine wild life such as Dall's Porpoises, seals, sea lions, and bald eagles. Day 1 London to Vancouver
Depart the UK today and arrive into Vancouver. Make your way to your hotel and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. If you wish to explore the city, admission to the Vancouver Outlook is included to help you get your bearings.
Day 2 Vancouver
Enjoy a guided tour of Vancouver including the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain.
Day 3 Vancouver to Kamloops
Today you will board the Rocky Mountaineer and head into British Columbia, making your way to the town of Kamloops.
Day 4 Banff
Continue your journey on board the train and you will enter the Rockies this afternoon. This is likely to be one of the most beautiful days of your entire trip.
Day 5 Banff
Spend today exploring the stunning scenery of the Banff National Park with your guide, including Bow Falls and Lake Minnewanka. The highlight of the day is a 12-minute helicopter flight over the Rockies.
Day 6 Lake Louise
Continue your exploration of the area, including Yoho National Park and Emerald Lake. Spend the night at beautiful Lake Louise.
Day 7 Jasper
Today, drive north through the heart of the Rockies on the Ice fields Parkway to Jasper National Park including a tundra buggy ride on the Athabasca Glacier.
Day 8 Quesnel
Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer and leave the mountains behind you as you head west towards Quesnel.
Day 9 Whistler
Continue south through the Cariboo Plateau ranchlands of central British Columbia, arriving into Whistler later this afternoon.
Day 10 Whistler
Enjoy a day at leisure so you can explore Whistler.
Day 11 Vancouver
The morning is at leisure before a barbecue lunch at a local cultural centre. Board the Rocky Mountaineer this afternoon for the short but scenic journey back to Vancouver.
Day 12 Vancouver
Check out of your hotel this morning where your arrangements with Rocky Mountaineer finish. Make your own way back to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.
Day 13 London
Arrive back into the UK after a once in a life time holiday.
