Highlights / General details
Just beyond the candy-colored buildings of the Art Deco District and the downtown skyscrapers is the must-see garden and museum in Miami where the early days of the Magic City are beautifully preserved in architecture and in spirit. Villa Vizcaya, once the winter residence of industrialist James Deering, was designed as a palatial Italian Villa on tropical Biscayne Bay.
The fabulous Villa Vizcaya is one of Miami’s National Historic Landmarks and provides a window into the past.
It preserves an interesting collection of European art and introduces visitors into a place in time when America’s wealthiest industrialists created lavish homes inspired by the palaces of Europe. It is surrounded by a stunning landscape and an orchid garden that will transport you to a Golden Age, around 100 years ago.
